President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on a visit to Spain today, November 18, where he will meet with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez tomorrow, November 19, and will be in Turkey to intensify negotiations on ending the war and returning prisoners. Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today is the meeting in Spain, which we have been preparing for a long time, and we hope that another strong country will help more to protect lives and bring the end of the war closer. We are working to ensure that the meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez brings agreements that will give us more strength. Every day in relations with partners there should be a result for Ukraine," he said.
Zelenskyy also said that tomorrow, November 19, he will visit Turkey.
"Tomorrow - meetings in Turkey. We are preparing to intensify negotiations, and we have developed solutions that we will offer to our partners. Doing our best to bring the end of the war closer is Ukraine's top priority. We are also working to resume exchanges and return of prisoners," the President said.
Zelenskyy also announced that on Thursday, November 20, he would hold a meeting with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and this week he will also hold meetings with government officials, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and members of the Servant of the People faction on legislative initiatives and fundamental decisions.
"Thursday - I instructed to prepare the Staff meeting. Of course, this week there will be relevant conversations with government officials and a meeting with the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and members of the Servant of the People faction. I am preparing several necessary legislative initiatives and fundamental quick decisions that our country needs," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 17, Zelenskyy agreed in France to purchase 100 Rafale F4 aircraft, 8 SAMP-T air defense systems, radars for air defense systems, air-to-air missiles, and air bombs.
On November 15, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov announced the parties' decision to activate the Istanbul agreements, which provide for the release of 1200 Ukrainians from russian captivity.
