The International Monetary Fund mission has started discussions with the Ukrainian authorities on a new Extended Fund Facility program.
The IMF has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The IMF mission led by Gavin Gray today began discussions with the Ukrainian authorities in the context of their request to launch a new Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. The discussions will focus on the authorities' economic policy objectives, with an emphasis on both fiscal and monetary policies to ensure stability in the face of continued very high uncertainty, and structural measures to strengthen governance, fight corruption, and support economic growth," the press service quoted Priscilla Toffano, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine, as saying.
Other details were not disclosed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 3, the Cabinet of Ministers together with the International Monetary Fund started consultations on the state budget.
On June 30, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program with Ukraine.
