Zelenskyy reaches agreement with Greece on gas for Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the achievement of an agreement with Greece on gas supplies for Ukraine. He reported this on Telegram.

According to the President, this will become another supply route that will allow Ukraine to maximally secure gas imports for the winter.

"We already have agreements on financing gas imports, and we will cover the need for almost EUR 2 billion for gas imports to compensate for the losses of Ukrainian production due to russian strikes," Zelenskyy noted.

He noted that the government has already allocated funds to finance gas imports. European partners have also joined this process: European banks under the guarantees of the European Commission, Ukrainian banks, as well as Norway. Active work is also underway with American partners, so full financing will be provided.

"We are creating ample opportunities for supplies in the winter," the President emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Naftogaz previously attracted loans from state-owned PrivatBank, Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, and Ukrgasbank. On October 1, Naftogaz Group signed a historic loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for EUR 300 million.
