Belgium calls russian strikes on Ukraine war crime

Belgium condemns the massive strikes carried out by russia on the territory of Ukraine in recent weeks. Of particular concern is the fact of the strike, which occurred near a diplomatic institution - the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv. This was reported by Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot on the social network X

The official emphasized that these bombings are deliberately aimed at the civilian population, residential areas, hospitals, energy and other vital infrastructure.

"They killed and injured innocent people, including children, and left entire communities in fear and darkness. Let's be very frank: these are war crimes. They are part of a systematic strategy to undermine the morale of the Ukrainian people," he wrote.

As Maxime Prevot noted, Ukrainians are demonstrating resilience in the face of terror, which deserves "the deepest respect and solidarity."

The Belgian Foreign Minister also expressed concern about the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv. The minister noted that the shelling of the diplomatic mission is not only unacceptable, but also a direct attack on the principles that underpin the international system.

"To the people of Ukraine: you are not alone. We stand with you. Together with our European and international partners, we will continue to support and increase pressure on russia until this illegal and immoral war ends," the diplomat wrote.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the building of the Azerbaijani Embassy was damaged as a result of the russian night attack on Kyiv.

On November 14, Zelenskyy spoke in a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about the damage to the Azerbaijani Embassy due to the russian attack.
