The body of a 39-year-old serviceman who was wanted for leaving a military unit without permission was found in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region. According to the Ivano-Frankivsk regional territorial and social support center, the man was mobilized only on November 8, but soon left his place of service. This was reported by the Ivano-Frankivsk Center for Recruiting and Social Support.
The man's body was discovered on November 14 by a resident of Rozhniatov, Kaluskyi district, who reported this to law enforcement officers. The deceased turned out to be a serviceman who was mobilized only on November 8. According to the results of the military medical commission, he was recognized as fit for service in support and security units (in particular, in the security company of the 1st department of the Kaluskyi district territorial recruitment and social support center).
The center stated that on November 12, this serviceman left the unit without permission while on duty. On the same day, data on this case was transferred to the military law enforcement service, after which search operations began. After the body was discovered, the investigative and operational group established his identity.
"The deceased turned out to be a 39-year-old resident of the Kaluskyi district, a serviceman of the 1st department of the Kalusky district territorial recruitment and social support center (Dolyna city), who had been wanted for leaving a military unit without permission since November 12. According to preliminary information from the police, no signs of violent death were found. The man's body was sent for forensic medical examination. Further legal assessment of the incident will be provided by the competent authorities," the center added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 6, Reshetylova stated that employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers should be removed from the streets, since they are not trained to communicate with conscripts.
Also, the Commissioner for the Protection of Military Personnel's Rights, Olha Reshetylova, stated that employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers often do not have days off or vacations for half a year, there have already been cases of suicide among them, and the centers' staffing is below 40%.
