Azerbaijan has summoned the ambassador of the aggressor country russia to express its strong protest over the damage to the embassy in Kyiv. It was reported by Reuters on Friday, November 14.

Azerbaijan said it had expressed a strong protest to the russian ambassador after a russian Iskander missile damaged the embassy in Kyiv. In a statement, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said the missile blast destroyed part of the embassy's perimeter wall and caused serious damage to the diplomatic complex. A spokesman for the ministry said that no one was injured and the embassy continues to work.

"It was emphasized that such attacks on our diplomatic missions are unacceptable, and a request was made to the Russian side to conduct an appropriate investigation into this issue and provide detailed explanations," the material says.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said that in January 2024 and August 2025, russian air strikes left a large crater nearby and damaged buildings. Prior to that, in March 2022, the Azerbaijani consulate in Kharkiv was severely damaged by an air strike.
