NSDC comments on sanctions against Mindich and Tsukerman

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CDC) under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) commented on the sanctions against the defendants in the corruption case in the energy sector, businessman, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich, and financier and businessman Oleksandr Tsukerman. The CCD announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Numerous manipulations are spreading on the network regarding the NSDC sanctions against two defendants in the NABU investigation. For the sake of clarity, we note. According to the explanations of the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the decision provides for a full standard package of sanctions, including the blocking of assets on the territory of Ukraine, regardless of the citizenship of the persons to whom they are applied," the report says.

It is noted that the term of application of the sanctions is three years, and for the deprivation of awards - indefinitely.

"The term of application of sanctions is three years (and for deprivation of awards - indefinitely). There is no ban on entry into the territory of Ukraine. The standard set and term of sanctions, including a complete blocking of assets (instantaneous effect). Applied to persons with confirmed foreign citizenship," Vlasiuk noted.

The CCD notes that indicating foreign citizenship will allow for operational blocking in foreign jurisdictions.

"In addition, the sanctions actually block assets in Ukraine. The claim that they "do not apply to Ukrainian property" is a manipulation that does not correspond to reality," the message says.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of November 13 on the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against Tymur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman - defendants in the case of the scheme of embezzlement of funds from the Energoatom national nuclear power generating company. According to the decree, Mindich and Tsukerman are citizens of Israel.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced that they are conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.

On November 10, NABU detectives came to search the homes of businessman, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich, Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko, and Energoatom.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated that Mindich had registered his departure from Ukraine in accordance with the norms of current legislation and left the country legally.
