There is no question of russian control over Pokrovsk (Donetsk Region). The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We are not talking about Russian control over the city of Pokrovsk or the operational encirclement of the Ukrainian Defense Forces group," he said.
Syrskyi noted that stabilization of the situation in the area of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad operation depends on the level of interaction and coordination of actions of military command and control bodies, units and subdivisions involved in the performance of combat missions.
He said that for this purpose he made a trip to the Pokrovsk direction, together with the commanders they focused on the results of the previously defined tasks and planned further actions.
"The Pokrovsk direction remains the main one in the context of the enemy's offensive. The largest number of enemy's daily assault actions is recorded here, and a significant part of its group operating on the territory of Ukraine is concentrated here. In particular, the enemy is trying to take advantage of the difficult weather conditions. Our main tasks are to gradually take control of certain areas, support and protect existing logistics routes, as well as organize additional ones to ensure timely provision of our defenders with everything they need and uninterrupted evacuation of the wounded," the Commander-in-Chief noted.
According to Syrskyi, on the outskirts and directly in the urban area, there is a constant struggle with small enemy assault infantry groups, less often - the destruction of light enemy equipment, the military of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything to prevent the movement and consolidation of the enemy.
He also reported that the search and destruction of the enemy continues in the adjacent Ocheretyne direction, over the past 7 days, as a result of search and strike operations, 7.4 km² of the territory of the Pokrovsk District of the Donetsk Region have been cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on November 11, 217 combat clashes took place at the front, with the enemy attacking most of the time on the Pokrovsk (76 clashes) and Oleksandrivka (23) axes.
On November 11, the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that more than 300 russian military personnel are located directly in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region, trying to reach the northern borders of the city in order to surround the agglomeration.
