The Ministry of Justice confirms that investigative actions were carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings with the participation of the Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko. This is announced in the official statement of the Ministry of Justice, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The Minister provides full assistance to law enforcement agencies to ensure a comprehensive, objective and impartial investigation. The Ministry of Justice consistently adheres to the principle of zero tolerance for corruption. If guilt is established, individuals must be held accountable in accordance with the procedure established by the court," the statement says.
It is noted that, given the need to maintain the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation, the Minister refrains from public comments until the completion of the relevant procedural actions.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced that they were conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.
On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada appointed a new Cabinet of Ministers of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, in particular, Herman Halushchenko, who held the position of Minister of Energy in the government of Denys Shmyhal, was appointed Minister of Justice.
