Russia may attack EU countries without waiting for end of war in Ukraine - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that russia is capable of attacking European Union countries without ending the war in Ukraine. He explained this threat by the fact that russian ruler vladimir putin is currently in a "stalemate". He stated this in an interview with The Guardian.

He noted that it is not possible to exclude the possibility that the russian federation will open a new front of aggression against another European country without waiting for the end of the current war in Ukraine.

"I think so. He can do it. We must forget about the general European skepticism that putin first wants to occupy Ukraine, and then he can go somewhere else. He can do both at the same time," Zelenskyy said.

President Zelenskyy believes that russia is resorting to increased criminal activity in Europe (in particular, the invasion of decoy drones into Poland and the appearance of drones over European airports) precisely because of the inability to achieve significant successes on the front in Ukraine.

"Putin is in a hopeless situation in terms of real success. For him, this is more of a stalemate. That is why these failures may force him to look for other territories," he said.

Recall that on the evening of November 4, drones were spotted over the country's airports and military air bases in Belgium. The airport in Brussels suspended operations and 40 flights were canceled for the morning. As a result, air traffic over Brussels Airport and Liege Airport came to a standstill.

In addition, on October 2, 15 drones were spotted over the Elsenborn military base in southeastern Belgium.

Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken said that drones over Kleine-Brogel air base were spying on F-16 fighter jets.

After that, the Chief of the General Staff of the Belgian Armed Forces, Frederik Vansina, said that the Belgian army had received orders to shoot down any unidentified drones over military bases.
