Nuclear security in Ukraine remains extremely unstable after the latest strikes by the military of the aggressor country russia. This is stated in the IAEA report.

"Nuclear safety and security in Ukraine remains extremely precarious during the military conflict. Two operating NPPs - Khmelnitskyy and Rivne - had to reduce electricity output after overnight attack on electrical substation critical for nuclear safety," the IAEA emphasized.

At the same time, Director General Rafael Grossi once again emphasized the need for restraint to maintain nuclear safety and avoid accidents with serious radiological consequences.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that there are reasons to believe that russia is planning to strike at substations critical for power supply to nuclear power plants, representatives of the hostile Rosatom are involved in planning russian strikes on substations.

Kyiv also emphasized that the strikes of the aggressor country russia on the energy infrastructure that ensures the stable operation of nuclear power plants pose not only a threat to Ukraine, but also a potential danger to the whole of Europe.
