World grain production will reach a record level in 2025.

In 2025, the world production of cereals, including rice in flour equivalent, is expected to reach 2990 million tons, which is 4.4% higher than in 2024.

This is stated in a report from the experts of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

According to the estimates, the production growth will affect all major grain crops, but corn will show the largest increase, while rice will show the smallest. Corn and rice production is projected to reach historic highs in 2025.

The global consumption of grains in the season 2025-2026 is forecast at 2929 million tons, which is 51.9 million tons (1.8%) more than in the previous season. The main growth factors will be sufficient supply and lower grain prices. At the same time, the use of grain for feed purposes may increase by 2.1%

An increase in consumption of feed grains, particularly corn, is expected in major producing countries such as Brazil and the United States. In Asia, imports of wheat for feed needs are forecast to increase due to high demand from aquaculture. The consumption of cereals in food and other segments will also grow, due to demographic changes and gradual transformation of the population's eating habits.
