NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte wants the Alliance to emphasize its nuclear capabilities more actively in the future to deter rivals, including russia, and believes that there is no reason for panic among the nations of the Alliance.

It was reported by the authors of the portal of the German edition Welt am Sonntag.

According to Rutte, it is important for NATO countries to talk more with the public about nuclear deterrence, "so that they understand how it contributes to our overall security."

"When Russia uses dangerous and uncompromising nuclear rhetoric, our nations need to know that there is no reason to panic, as NATO has a strong nuclear deterrent to keep the peace," he added.
