The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has collected evidence of war crimes by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. According to the case materials, the official is using his own administrative resources to promote the war of the aggressor country of russia against Ukraine. This is stated in the SSU report.
The investigation by the special service showed that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Sobyanin has "mobilized" almost 90,000 Moscow residents to the front.
According to the SSU, more than 70,000 residents of the russian capital were recruited through Moscow's "selection points for military service under a contract".
To organize mobilization work and other assistance to armed groups of russians, Sobyanin headed a specialized group within the Coordination Council under the russian government. In this status, the official helps the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country to deploy additional locations for mobilized and new enterprises of the russian military-industrial complex.
Also, Sobyanin regularly attracts equipment and workers from the municipal enterprises under his control: Mosvodokanal, Mosgaz and Moskollektor for the arrangement of russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This primarily concerns the construction of fortifications and fortified areas in the frontline areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
Based on the collected evidence, investigators of the Security Service in absentia reported Sobyanin on suspicion under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (complicity in waging an aggressive war, committed by a group of persons).
"Since the attacker is on the territory of the russian federation, comprehensive measures are underway to bring him to justice for crimes against our state," the SSU noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier the Security Service of Ukraine reported in absentia about the suspicion of a militant who carved a "Z" on the forehead of a captured Ukrainian soldier.
