Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced that he is traveling to Washington to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and peace after the war in Ukraine with US President Donald Trump. Orbán wrote about it on his Facebook page on Thursday, November 6.
The politician noted that new prospects have opened up in relations between Hungary and the United States since Trump's re-election. According to him, in the first ten months, everything that was negative between the countries during the Joe Biden administration was corrected. Once again, Hungarians can travel to the United States without a visa, which was the first stage of normalization of relations, Orbán emphasized.
"Today we are traveling to Washington to open a new chapter in relations between Hungary and the United States together with President Trump. Our goal is to establish strategic cooperation, which will include energy relations, investments, defense cooperation and coordination of positions on peace after the Russian-Ukrainian war," the Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized.
In his opinion, the new agreement between Hungary and the United States will be mutually beneficial and will serve all Hungarians.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 1, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán asked US President Donald Trump to ease sanctions against russian oil, but was refused.
On October 29, Orbán said that peace between Ukraine and russia is possible only with the participation of an external mediator, and, in his opinion, only US President Donald Trump can fulfill this role.
