The Ministry of Defense has announced that on behalf of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it has begun preparing new types of contracts for servicemen with a fixed term of service of 1-5 years or more and relevant amendments to the legislation. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The main innovation is guaranteed clear terms of service. Among the main advantages of the new contracts are
fixed service life - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and more years;
deferral from mobilization for 1 year (except for a one-year contract);
additional monthly remuneration for participation in operations and annual financial bonuses;
the ability to choose a military unit and position within a certain list," the statement said.

It is noted that after the adoption of legislative changes, all defenders will be able to sign contracts: both those who are already part of the army and those who will join it in the future.
We are currently working with the government, the Ministry of Finance and partners to harmonize the regulatory framework and financial issues.
The Defense Ministry promises to announce additional details in the near future.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in February, the Ministry of Defense officially launched the Contract 18-24 project, an initiative for volunteers aged 18-24 who are ready to join the Ukrainian Defense Forces for one year.
The 1-year contract provides for a remuneration of UAH 1 million, the possibility of a zero mortgage, training at public expense, free medical care, including dental prosthetics, the right to travel abroad after a year of service, and guaranteed exemption from mobilization for 12 months after the end of the contract.
On July 30, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to launch a separate direction of the Contract 18-24 program for drone operators with a service period of two years.
