Occupiers want to open drama theater in Mariupol, destroyed during mass murder of civilians

The occupation authorities are preparing to open a restored drama theater in Mariupol - a building that has become a symbol of one of the largest war crimes of russia.

As reported by the city council of Ukrainian Mariupol, the russians announced the completion of the so-called "restoration work" and plan to open the theater in December. "The place, which has become one of the symbols of the tragedy of Mariupol, is now being transformed into a venue for russian performances and concerts - they literally plan to dance on the bones of the killed Mariupol residents," the city council said in a statement.

As a reminder, on March 16, 2022, russian aircraft dropped two powerful bombs on the drama theater, where hundreds of civilians, including children, were hiding from shelling. The word "CHILDREN" was written in large letters in front of the building, but this did not stop the attack. According to local authorities, at least 600 people were killed then.

After occupation of the territory, the russian military fenced off the theater to hide the dismantling of the rubble and prevent the crime from being documented.

As a reminder, the prosecutor's office reported suspicion in absentia to the russian general who gave the order to bomb the drama theater and maternity ward during the fighting in Mariupol.
