The total state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in September increased by 0.8%, or USD 1.63 billion, to USD 194.21 billion compared to the previous month.
This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The state and state-guaranteed debt at the end of September amounted to UAH 8,024.14 billion, or USD 194.21 billion, against UAH 7,945.75 billion, or USD 192.58 billion, a month earlier.
The total amount of direct state debt as of the reporting date amounted to UAH 7,732.33 billion (USD 187.14 billion), compared to UAH 7,657.17 billion (USD 185.58 billion) a month earlier.
At the same time, direct external debt increased from USD 140.01 billion to USD 141.65 billion over the month.
Direct domestic debt decreased in the hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,880.2 billion to UAH 1,879.86 billion (in dollar terms - from USD 45.57 billion to USD 45.50 billion).
The state-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 291.82 billion, or USD 7.06 billion.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, Ukraine's total state (direct and guaranteed) debt increased by 14.27%, or USD 20.74 billion, to USD 166.06 billion.
In 2023, Ukraine's total state (direct and guaranteed) debt increased by 30.4%, or by USD 33.87 billion, to a record USD 145.32 billion.
In 2022, the total state debt increased by USD 13.39 billion, or 13.66%, to USD 111.34 billion.
In 2021, the state debt increased by 8.52%, or USD 7.69 billion, to USD 97.95 billion.
In 2020, the total state debt increased by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
