In Odesa, group of civilians attack employees of territorial recruitment center with tear gas and batons - official statement

On October 30, in Odesa, during mobilization events, employees of one of the district territorial recruitment and social support centers were subjected to a group attack by civilians. As a result of the attack, a service car was damaged, and there were also casualties among the servicemen. This was reported by the Odesa Regional territorial recruitment and social support center.

"A crowd of civilians, using physical force, tear gas and batons, attacked servicemen of one of the Centers. We consider this case not simply as hooliganism or an act of protest, but as a direct attack and an attempt to forcefully obstruct lawful mobilization events," the statement says.

The territorial recruitment center notes that "no disagreement with the actions of state bodies can justify violence against servicemen who are performing their constitutional duty."

Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying all those involved in the offense. The attack was recorded on the body cameras of military personnel.

"The actions of the attackers fall under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the responsibility for which is extremely strict. We urge citizens not to succumb to provocations and finally realize that such acts of violence work exclusively for the benefit of the enemy and harm the country's defense capabilities," the Odesa Regional territorial recruitment and social support center added.

We will remind, earlier in Odesa, a drunken policeman threatened the military and crashed the Center's car.
