Ukraine has never used long-range US weapons on the territory of russia and has its own long-range capabilities of up to 3,000 kilometers. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated this during a interview with journalists in Brussels (Belgium), the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Zelenskyy was asked whether the United States has actually lifted restrictions on the use of long-range weapons against targets in russia.
"I'm not sure I'm going to reveal anything new now. We have a clear use of long-range capabilities of Ukrainian production. And it is we who use the long-range capabilities of Ukrainian production from 150 km to 3,000 km - these are our newest capabilities," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is working on obtaining additional funding from partners for the mass production of Ukrainian weapons.
He said that Ukraine has never used American long-range weapons to hit targets deep in the rear of russian territory.
"We have never used long-range weapons on very important targets in Russia. This is important. We have used various weapons that have good long-range capabilities. But this was purely on the territory of combat operations or preparation for the relevant deployments on combat missions by the Russian Federation. That is why Crimea and the east are Ukraine. And we cannot talk about the use of this or that weapon, not only of Ukrainian production, on the territory of Crimea, as if it were on the territory of Russia. No, it is on the temporarily occupied territory," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump denied the information that his administration allowed Ukraine to launch long-range strikes on russian territory with Western missiles.
