Russia hands over bodies of 1,000 fallen soldiers to Ukraine - Interior Ministry

The bodies of 1,000 fallen soldiers, which the russian side claims belong to Ukrainian servicemen, have been returned to Ukraine. This is stated in a message of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Thursday, October 23.

Today, repatriation activities took place, thanks to which the bodies of 1,000 victims were returned to Ukraine. Law enforcement agencies and experts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will soon conduct the necessary examinations to identify all of them.

"The repatriation activities were carried out thanks to the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and other structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine and with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross," the statement said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 18, the aggressor country russia transferred to Ukraine 1,000 bodies, which, according to the russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen.

On August 19, Ukraine returned the bodies of 1,000 fallen soldiers, some of whom died in captivity.

On June 16, russia handed over the bodies of russian soldiers mixed with those of Ukrainians.
