The Security Service of Ukraine demonstrated a new generation of Sea Baby maritime drones. They have already been tested and involved in operations in the Black Sea.
The press service of the agency reported this today, October 22.
According to SSU Brigadier General Ivan "Hunter" Lukashevych, the new generation of Sea Baby drones is capable of covering a distance of more than 1500 kilometers and carrying up to 2000 kilograms of payload. The drones were also equipped with reinforced engines and a modern navigation system.
The SSU showed photos of two Sea Baby drones. The first one is equipped with a heavy machine gun mount that has a gyro stabilizer. It also has the function of auto-capture and target recognition.

"The SSU is the ideologist of a new type of naval warfare. We are constantly looking for effective means to maintain Ukraine's advantage in the Black Sea for as long as possible. The task of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is to neutralize the powerful Russian Black Sea Fleet. We are actively working on this," the SSU press service quoted Lukashevych as saying.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in June this year, the SSU handed over the Sea Baby marine drone to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. This drone took part in several operations in the Black Sea.
Recall that in December 2024, Ukrainian Sea Baby naval drones entered into battle with the occupiers' aviation in the Kerch Bay area.
