In russia's Ulyanovsk Oblast on the night of Saturday, October 18, drones attacked the Veshkayma substation, which is one of the key elements of the region's energy system.
This information was confirmed by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council.
According to him, the 500 kW substation provided a connection between the Ulyanovsk, Mordovia, Chuvash and Samara Oblasts of the terrorist country. It was also a transit hub for the supply of electricity from the Syzran and Zhigulyovsk hydroelectric power plants to the central regions of russia.

The local authorities of the russian region also acknowledged the damage to the substation, stating that four drones had attacked it. A fire broke out at the facility.
According to the Astra Telegram channel, the settlement of Veshkayma was left without electricity.
