Finland has officially joined the Tallinn Mechanism, which coordinates international assistance in the field of cyber defense of Ukrainian government agencies and critical infrastructure
According to the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participation in the mechanism will allow the country to help Ukraine counter cyber threats and strengthen Helsinki's position as a reliable partner in cyber diplomacy.
The Tallinn Mechanism was established in 2023. Its task is to combine the resources of different countries to develop Ukraine's cyber resilience against the backdrop of Russian aggression. Ukrainian ministries, agencies, local governments and critical infrastructure operators receive support through the mechanism.
In addition to Finland, the initiative includes Estonia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, and Norway.
In September, unidentified persons carried out a cyberattack on the website of the Finnish Ministry of Defense.
