On Sunday, October 12, a russian bomber "dropped" a FAB-500 near the military airfield in Engels, Saratov Oblast of the russian federation.

It is noted that local authorities did not report the incident. As the publication found out, on October 12, an aircraft bomb (FAB-500) "abnormally descended" from a russian plane in a field near the village of Kvasnikovka, which is part of the city of Engels. The bomb did not explode, there were no casualties, a source in the russian Emergencies Ministry added.
It is noted that a russian military airfield is located in Engels, which is a key base for russia's strategic aviation. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, planes that launch missile strikes against Ukraine take off from this airfield.
All in all, ASTRA has learned about at least 126 bombs (119 FAB and 7 UMPB) and three missiles that have fallen from russian aircraft in the russian federation and the occupied territories of Ukraine since the beginning of 2025. In 2024, at least 165 FAB bombs fell on these territories.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian aviation dropped a bomb on the Belgorod Oblast. A FAB fell in front of a local resident's car - he was injured, the car was damaged. Local authorities concealed it.
