Ukrposhta has announced the installation of its own parcel lockers throughout Ukraine. The company has already signed an agreement with the Ukrainian manufacturer Modern Expo, which will manufacture the equipment.
This was announced by Ihor Smilianskiy, Director General of Ukrposhta.
The new parcel lockers will work both via a mobile application and via a PIN code entered on a metal keyboard. This will allow them to be used even in the absence of the Internet or during bad weather.
Through the parcel lockers, it will be possible not only to receive a parcel, but also to send a letter - thus they will gradually replace traditional mailboxes.
The devices are equipped with security systems and can operate autonomously without light and communication. They are protected from moisture, dust and damage, so they will withstand rain, frost and other difficult conditions.
The first 100 parcel lockers will be installed by the end of the year: 70 in Kyiv and 30 in Odesa. After that, the company plans to scale the project across Ukraine, taking into account user feedback.
"Next, we will receive your feedback and scale them across the country. We know how much you are waiting for them. So we will keep you updated and let you know when we are ready to wait for your parcels in our parcel lockers. And, of course, we are preparing new pleasant surprises soon!" wrote the head of Ukrposhta.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, every month there are cases when Ukrposhta postmen are bitten by customers' dogs.
