Fuel oil leaks from tankers continue in Kerch Strait - CCD

The aggressor country of russia continues to destroy the Black Sea, ignoring the consequences of a large-scale environmental disaster. Fuel oil leaks from tankers that crashed in the Kerch Strait at the end of last year are again being recorded on the beaches of Anapa. This is stated in the message of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

Although the tanker accident occurred almost ten months ago, the wreckage of the ships has not yet been raised from the seabed, so fuel oil leaks continue.

The CCD emphasizes that the russian authorities demonstrate complete indifference to the environmental threat: instead of actually eliminating the consequences of the accident, they are focused on the war against Ukraine. This leads to constant pollution of the Black Sea, which will have long-term consequences for the ecosystem of the region.

According to the Center, russian citizens themselves are suffering from this - businesses on the Black Sea coast suffered losses due to the failed tourist season, and vacationers who still dared to come to the resorts risked their own health.

"The neglect of the consequences of the disaster demonstrates the complete degradation of public administration in the russian federation - a system mired in war is no longer able to respond even to threats to its own environment and population," the Center emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September, the aggressor country of russia reduced its exports of oil products by sea. It fell by 17.1% compared to August this year.
