On the 250th anniversary of the creation of the US Navy, the National Museum of the Navy published a congratulatory post that unexpectedly caused a wave of irony on the network. In the festive image, instead of the American ship, the russian missile cruiser Varyag was depicted (in the past it was called Chervona Ukraina [Red Ukraine]).
The curiosity was drawn to the attention of Wall Street Journal journalist Dave Brown, who was the first to notice that the ship in the photo does not belong to the American fleet at all.
Despite the solemn post with thanks to everyone who "served and serves the nation", the mistake did not go unnoticed - social media users quickly recognized the silhouette of the russian ship.

It turned out that Americans and entire companies from the United States created a whole series of greeting cards from the American military, which used images of russian ships.

A similar mistake was made by Florida Senator Jim Boyd, who also used a photo of the Varyag in his greeting. The politician later deleted the publication.

As we will recall, Time magazine presented a new cover dedicated to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which depicts US President Donald Trump. The issue was called "His Triumph", but the politician himself did not react to this with triumph at all.
