The title of the document suggests that it is proposed to introduce Thanksgiving Day in Ukraine, but without a day off.
Thanksgiving Day is a holiday with a long history, celebrated in many countries of the world and mainly associated with the end of agricultural work.
The main goal is to thank God for the harvest and help in growing the harvest and for all the achievements of the nation during the year.
Often, such holidays contain elements of ancient national traditions.
In countries where Protestantism prevails, Thanksgiving is often associated with the biblical holiday of Shavuot. The tradition of such celebrations for over a century is also inherent in the Protestant environment of Ukraine.
It is celebrated in the USA in November, in Canada in October, and in Ukraine in September.
Since September 17, 2017, the Holiday has been celebrated in the format of the All-Ukrainian.
Thanksgiving is usually celebrated in the family circle.
Relatives and friends come from all over the country to a common table with traditional dishes.
The obligatory dishes on Thanksgiving are stuffed turkey with cranberry jam and sweet pie with pumpkin filling.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 6, the Verkhovna Rada member from the Servant of the People faction, Heorhii Mazurashu, registered a bill in the Verkhovna Rada in which he proposes to allow the National Bank to place the inscription "We believe in God" on hryvnia banknotes.
On December 25, Ukrainians celebrate Christmas, one of the most important Christian holidays. On this day, families gather around the same table with the warmest feelings, and Christmas songs are heard everywhere.
