The National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (Asset Recovery and Management Agency, ARMA) has terminated the competitive procedure for finding the manager of the arrested Gulliver shopping mall in the Prozorro system.
This is stated in the ARMA message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that the asset was transferred to ARMA management in 2017 as being related to former President Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage, within the framework of criminal proceedings on the misappropriation of state-owned bank funds.
ARMA's task was to ensure the preservation and proper management of this asset until its legal status is finally determined.
According to the message, the courts have made decisions establishing: the share in the ownership of the Gulliver shopping mall belongs to the state-owned creditor banks, and not to persons associated with Yanukovych.
ARMA acts exclusively within the framework of the law and court decisions.
In turn, Oschadbank said that it welcomes the decision of ARMA to terminate the competition for the manager of the Gulliver shopping and entertainment center.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank Arsen Miliutin emphasized that the bank has hired a professional team to manage the shopping and entertainment center while it is owned by a consortium of state banks.
State banks will do everything necessary to ensure that the complex remains a model of successful office and retail real estate, and that the revenues from its activities provide financing for the economy with a special emphasis on supporting the defense industry.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early August, Oschadbank reported that information about the transfer of the Gulliver shopping and entertainment center to the management of state banks is not true.
The State Savings Bank and the State Export-Import Bank received ownership of the capital's Gulliver shopping and entertainment center due to the debts of its owner.
The owner of the Gulliver shopping and entertainment center was Viktor Polishchuk.
