We invest in smart person 3-5 times less than our enemy - Mylovanov

Former Minister of Economy and Head of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) Tymofii Mylovanov stated in an interview with the Ukrainian Pravda publication that Ukraine invests in a smart person 3-5 times less than the aggressor country of russia.

"If the budget of a university such as Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Politechnic Institute or Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is divided by the number of students, we will get USD 1,500-2,000. If we do the same exercise with russian universities, we will get USD 4,000 in mediocre universities and more than USD 10,000 in top ones. This means that we invest in a smart person 3-5 times less than our enemy," the former minister said.

He emphasized that some of the most dangerous technological units in russia cooperate with universities.

"If in 10 years the russians try to attack us again, we will have fewer trained engineers, fewer military leaders, fewer young people, and we will be forced to learn again in battle, not in student classrooms," he added.

Mylovanov stressed that Ukraine must win the current war - stop the enemy, defend independence. And young people aged 10-15, who want to build Ukraine, who want to be engineers, in his opinion, must receive all the resources to be more prepared, more trained, more educated than the enemy.

"This is not happening. The reason is obvious: there is no finance. Therefore, we cannot scatter the already limited resource across hundreds of universities. It must be given to the best," the former minister noted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the "pessimistic forecast" of Tymofii Mylovanov, in 10 years 10-15 million Ukrainians may remain in Ukraine.

Mylovanov also stated that after the end of the war, Ukraine needs to attract about 10 million labor migrants to ensure positive changes in the economy.
