The Pension Fund's debt to special pensioners is over UAH 80 billion.
This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada member from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy Danylo Hetmantsev on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today, the Pension Fund's debt to special pensioners is already over UAH 80 billion!!! To really bring order to this area, changes to special laws are needed. Not temporary solutions, but systemic reform. I am convinced: limiting "clan special pensions" will be a step towards ensuring that all Ukrainian pensioners receive a decent pension - not survive, but live humanely," he wrote.
The MP added that there is already some progress. The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading bill No. 12278, which limits special pensions for prosecutors.
"This is an important signal that changes are possible. However, it is a pity that further consideration of the document is being slowed down due to the resistance of those who are not ready to give up excessive privileges. Ukraine needs a fair, understandable and equal pension system for all. Because when pensions are determined not by merit, but by status, we lose not only money - we lose trust. And without trust there is no strong state," the MP emphasized.
He recalled that while the majority of Ukrainian pensioners survive on a few thousand hryvnias, certain categories receive pensions of UAH 50,000 or even over UAH 100,000.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Danylo Hetmantsev will insist on raising the minimum pension to UAH 4,000-4,500 next year.
