President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News that today the effectiveness of destroying enemy UAVs by interceptor drones is 68%. According to him, this figure will increase in the future.
"Interceptor drones are the cheapest way to destroy Iranian drones, Shaheds. By the way, everyone in Europe recognizes this, as well as in the United States. We have several companies that have begun to mass produce them. Now the percentage of destruction is 68%. That is, 68% of successful destruction, and this effectiveness will increase. The question now is money, and this is a real problem, because financing is needed," he said.
Zelenskyy said that one such interceptor drone costs approximately USD 3,500-5,000. According to him, 2-3 interceptors can be used against one Iranian Shahed, which costs over USD 100,000, so it is a "good tool".
At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that "thousands are needed" of such interceptor drones.
"Today we do not have enough money to increase this production. But I think we will be able to do it," the President said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine uses existing Patriot systems exclusively against russian ballistic missiles.
