US President Donald Trump is in "exceptional health," his doctor said Friday after he underwent a checkup that included lab tests and routine medical exams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The Associated Press reported this, citing the conclusion of Trump's doctor.

Trump spent about three hours at the hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, for what his doctor, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, called a "scheduled follow-up evaluation" that was "part of his ongoing health maintenance plan."

During his stay at the medical facility, Trump also received his annual flu vaccine as well as a COVID-19 booster vaccine.

"President Donald J. Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical performance," Barbabella wrote in a one-page report.

The doctor noted that the examination helped prepare for Trump's upcoming overseas trips and included modern diagnostics, laboratory tests and preventive medical examinations.

Trump is traveling to the Middle East this weekend and plans to fly to Asia later this month.

Barbabella also noted that he estimated Trump's "heart age" to be about 14 years younger than his actual age.

Trump is 79 years old, and at the time of his inauguration, he was the oldest president of the United States.
