In Polish information space, pro-russian narratives becoming more active - CCD

In the information space of Poland, pro-russian narratives are becoming more active. They are aimed at forming the opinion that the US and the EU allegedly "provoked" the aggressor country of russia to war against Ukraine, and therefore - the culprit of the conflict is allegedly the West, not the Kremlin. This is stated in the message of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

It is noted that such messages are actively spreading on Facebook with calls to "not allow Poland to be dragged into war". They repeat classic messages of russian propaganda:

• "Maidan was planned and financed by the USA";
• "Crimea was annexed to the russian federation after a legal referendum";
• "NATO poses a threat to russian borders";
• "Ukraine refused peace under pressure from the West".

The CCD emphasized that these messages are part of a large-scale information influence operation that russia is conducting among the European audience.

"Its central narrative is 'don't let Ukraine drag us into war.' It is used to undermine EU and NATO solidarity and reduce public support for defense initiatives. In this way, the Kremlin is trying to weaken Europe's common defense capability against the backdrop of the growing threat from the russian federation," the CCD noted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russia has intensified information attacks against the United States using artificial intelligence.
