Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Dobropillia counteroffensive operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continues. During the operation, 180.8 square kilometers of the Donetsk Region were liberated.

Thus, during the working visit, the Commander-in-Chief held a meeting with the command staff at one of the control points, and also heard reports on the current situation and the implementation of previously defined tasks.
"Despite the enemy's constant counterattacks, the assault units of the Defense Forces continue offensive actions in certain areas. In total, 180.8 square kilometers of the Donetsk Region have been liberated in the course of the operation, 212.9 square kilometers have been cleared of saboteurs," he said.
Syrskyi reported that he had clarified the problematic issues and needs of the offensive group, and gave the necessary orders. Meanwhile, he said, counter-sabotage measures will continue, and defense will remain active.
"Measures are also being taken to prevent the enemy from advancing in the Pokrovsk direction, to improve logistics, to protect roads and critical infrastructure," he added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on October 8, that the losses of the army of the aggressor country, the russian federation, since the beginning of the counteroffensive operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of Dobropillia, Donetsk Region have exceeded 12,000 people.
