The losses of the army of the aggressor country of the russian federation since the beginning of the counteroffensive operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area of Dobropillia, Donetsk Region, have exceeded 12,000 people.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said this in his traditional evening video address.

He said that he had heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation on the front line. Particular attention is paid to the Dobropillia axis, where the Ukrainian military's counteroffensive operation continues.

According to him, since August 21, the occupants' losses in this area of the front exceeded 12,000 people. At least 7,200 of them are irrecoverable losses.

In addition, Zelenskyy drew attention to the Novopavlivka axis. The situation there is not easy. The Ukrainian military is carrying out active defense actions, and there are good results.

As a reminder,  Zelenskyy approved the plan of operations of the Security Service of Ukraine aimed at asymmetric actions in response to the attacks of the occupying army.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, following a meeting with SSU Chief Vasyl Maliuk, the President said that the russian troops had received an order to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Pokrovsk axis at any cost.

The Atlantic reported that Ukraine's strategy of war of attrition has begun to yield unexpected results that create conditions for victory in the future.
