"Witnesses said they heard three explosions near the Matignon Hotel, where Sébastien Lecornu was to hold meetings after his resignation, Le Parisien reports. Local media reported that the fire was contained in a van and did not spread to any surrounding buildings," the article says.
It is unclear what caused the explosions or the fire. A firefighter told reporters that the fire was caused by a mechanical malfunction in the company's equipment.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 6, the new French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu and his government resigned just hours after the announcement of the new government.
