US President Donald Trump has announced his decision to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles to force russian dictator vladimir putin to agree to peace talks, and only then to strengthen our military capabilities. MP from the Servant of the People faction, First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Yehor Cherniev announced this on Facebook on Tuesday, October 7.
Cherniev noted that Trump has clearly defined the stages of supplying Tomahawks to Ukraine. According to him, the US president deliberately said that he had "almost" decided to transfer the missiles, but he did not want to escalate, but also wanted to clarify how these missiles would be used.
"So the stages are clearly defined: I can change my mind and not deliver, I can deliver but not allow them to be used, I can allow them to be used only for specific purposes, and so on. At each of these stages, putin is given the opportunity to back down and negotiate. Therefore, most likely, the supply and use of missiles will be very gradual," the MP wrote.
According to Cherniev, Ukraine will first be given a few missiles, but will not be allowed to fire them to see how the kremlin reacts. If there is no reaction, they will allow several to hit the russian border. The MP emphasized that without putin's consent to negotiations, the volume of supplies and the range of use will increase. At least these actions will take several months, the MP explained.
