President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, commenting on russia's strikes on energy facilities, said that it is necessary to prepare for everything, it is difficult for him to say what will happen to electricity and Ukraine should be ready to import gas. Zelenskyy said this during a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in Kyiv, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"What will happen with electricity? It's hard to say today. We will be ready for all relevant challenges. We are working on this every day. We will defend, we will fight. And the russians should know that we will increase production of everything step by step so that they also feel what we feel," he said.
Zelenskyy also noted that russia will do everything to prevent Ukraine from producing gas, it will be difficult to protect all this, so the government is tasked with having money to import gas so that people have gas.
"We understand the amount of money and believe that we will be ready for this," the President said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 3, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that by striking at the gas production infrastructure, the aggressor country of russia is trying to disrupt the heating season in Ukraine.
In August, Zelenskyy also claimed that russians are deliberately striking at Ukraine's preparations for the heating season.
