The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed members of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrzaliznytsia joint-stock company.
Decree No. 1090-r of October 1 states this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Anatolii Amelin, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Maksym Mokliak, and Gebhard Hafer became independent members of the Supervisory Board, while the state is represented by Serhii Leshchenko and David Lomjaria.
Elżbieta Bieńkowska is a former Minister of Infrastructure of Poland and European Commissioner;
Gebhard Hafer is a logistics expert, worked at Deutsche Bahn;
Serhii Leshchenko is a former Member of Parliament, former journalist.
Hafer, Amelin, Lomjaria, Leshchenko were members of the Supervisory Board before, Mokliak and Bieńkowska are new members.
The term of office of the old Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia expired in December 2024, the only exception is Oleksandr Kamyshin.
Oleksandr Kamyshin is a former Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, former Minister of Strategic Industries (continues to work in the Supervisory Board, he was appointed in 2024).
The Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia by law consists of seven members, the majority of whom must be independent members.
The term of office of a member of the Supervisory Board is three years.
Persons elected as members of the Supervisory Board may be re-elected an unlimited number of times.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in mid-May, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a competitive selection of candidates for the positions of four independent members of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrzaliznytsia Joint Stock Company.
Ukrzaliznytsia completed 2024 with a loss of UAH 4.2 billion.
