IDF ordered to halt offensive in Gaza: Hamas militants agree to release hostages - media

Israel's political leadership has ordered the military to halt its offensive campaign to capture Gaza City and switch to purely defensive actions after US President Donald Trump called for a halt to strikes on the Strip.

This was reported by The Times of Israel with reference to the army radio station Galey IDF and the state broadcaster Kan.

According to Israeli media reports, the military was ordered to reduce operations in Gaza City to a "minimum", to limit itself to defensive maneuvers only.

According to Army Radio, this order was a direct result of intensive night consultations between senior Israeli and US officials. The decision was preceded by President Trump's public call for Israel to stop bombing Gaza.

At the same time, Kan notes that negotiations on Trump's peace plan will take place in the near future.

In turn, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported that Hamas militants have agreed to release all Israeli hostages they have been holding since October 7, 2023, and hand over the bodies of the dead in accordance with US President Donald Trump's peace plan.

This is stated in a Hamas statement published by the reporter. The full text of the terrorists' response to Trump was published by Clash Report. The terrorist group also agreed to some other points.
