Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair, has harshly criticized the European Union for failing to protect European airports from unauthorized drones that disrupt air traffic. He called for decisive action and noted that such drones should be shot down. He said this in an interview with Politico.
"Why aren't we shooting down these drones?" O'Leary reacted to incidents in Poland and Denmark, when airports were closed for several hours due to drone flights
He also expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of the "drone wall" that the EU plans to implement.
"I don't think the drone wall has any effect. Do you really think that the russians can't launch a drone from Poland?" O'Leary said.
The Ryanair CEO does not believe in the ability of European leaders to protect airspace.
"If they can't even protect the flight over France, what chance do we have against russia?" said O'Leary, referring to the cancellation of routes due to air traffic controllers' strikes in France
Recall that Danish Prime Minister called on EU leaders to respond decisively to russia's hybrid attacks.
