On the night of October 2, the occupiers launched a massive attack on the Ukrzaliznytsia depot in Odesa, and there were also attacks on the railway infrastructure of border communities in the North, in particular in Konotop. This was reported by the Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba on Facebook.
It is reported that the train driver sustained shrapnel injuries. He is being provided with all necessary assistance.
"The trains stopped at a safe distance from the affected area, as of the morning, all trains continued to move, the contact network is powered. Due to the attack, some trains of the Chernihiv and Sumy directions are running with a delay. We are doing everything to ensure that even such massive attacks do not stop Ukrainian transportation arteries," the statement said.
Kuleba calls for tougher sanctions and blocking of all supply chains for the russian federation, as the aggressor country uses weapons, that are impossible without foreign components, to destroy Ukrainian infrastructure.
As As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 1, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine said that as a result of a strike on a power substation in Slavutych, the Chornobyl nuclear power plant was completely de-energized.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the blackout at the former Chornobyl nuclear power plant, which occurred due to a russian strike on one of our power substations in Slavutych, lasted more than three hours.
Meanwhile, on the night of October 2, the russian occupiers attacked a non-functioning sanatorium in the city of Bucha, Kyiv Region, with a drone, and a fire broke out. A man was injured.
