Lukashenko shows off his Oreshnik. What launcher looks like

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko showed off a model of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile launcher, which gave an idea of what the secret russian weapon looks like.

This is reported by Defense Express.

The model was shown in close-up in the Belarusian leader's office when he met with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan. This allowed experts to examine the details of the design.

What chassis is the Oreshnik based on?

The launcher is based on the MZKT-79291 chassis from the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. This chassis is used for heavy ground launch complexes in the russian federation, including separate versions for operational-tactical systems.

MZKT-79291 is a 12×12 heavy-duty platform. Although official data on the load has not been published, a comparison with similar models and those projects where similar chassis were used allows us to assume an approximate load capacity of about 60 tons. For example, russian developments based on KamAZ declared about 50 tons, which, according to experts, is significantly inferior to the Belarusian model.

How much does the Oreshnik weigh?

Similar characteristics also lead to an approximate estimate of the take-off weight of the missile in the container - it can be comparable to the weights of missiles and transport-launch containers of the Soviet generation, although the exact figures depend on the design of the carrier and component systems. Analysts suggest that the weight of the Oreshnik is about 45-48 tons.

Experts warn that the model could have been deliberately placed in picture to misinform the enemy.

In August of this year, vladimir putin stated that the first serial Oreshnik complex had allegedly been delivered to the army of the aggressor country, russia, and that a place for such an installation had allegedly already been prepared in Belarus.

Recall that on November 21, russia attacked the city of Dnipro with an experimental medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik (Kedr), which can carry a nuclear warhead.

The Security Service of Ukraine showed journalists from the Associated Press the fragments of the Oreshnik missile with which russia struck the city of Dnipro.
