Oscar-winning British actor Gary Oldman has been knighted at a ceremony at Windsor Castle. He received the honour for his outstanding contribution to the development of dramatic art, the Independent reported.

"I think I look neat today," the actor replied.

Along with Oldman, other cultural and sports figures were also honored. Actress Samantha Morton became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and football player Rachel Daly, who won the Euro 2022 championship with the England women's team, received the title of Knight of the Order.

Earlier, commenting on the possibility of filming in the Harry Potter series, Oldman joked that "in a few years I could play Dumbledore."
