Today, after a massive russian missile and drone attack on the night of September 28, fires broke out in Kyiv, smog formed over the capital. The Kyiv City State Administration has reported this on the official channel on Telegram.
It is noted that at the same time, as of the morning of September 28, the level of atmospheric air pollution in Kyiv is low.
"A noticeable smell of burning can occur even when reference monitoring stations show that the level of air pollution by basic indicators (solid particles, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, etc.) remains low," the report says.
It is reported that after explosions, the smell of smoke is often felt near the impact sites or where the wind brings it. Also, the wind can lift harmful substances above the ground or disperse them, so monitoring stations sometimes show less intense pollution than a person feels.
If there is a smell of smoke in the area, it is recommended to:
- close the windows;
- limit your time outdoors if possible;
- drink more water.
We remind you that the death toll in Kyiv has increased to 4. Two of the deceased were found at the Institute of Cardiology named after Academician M. D. Strazhesko of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, which is located in Solomianskyi District. The body of a 12-year-old girl from a five-story building was also unblocked in this area.
Also in Kyiv, due to the enemy's massive attack on September 28, damage to a number of residential and non-residential facilities is known.
