Moldova and Ukraine are allegedly preparing a provocation against russia in the area of the village of Kovbasna in Transnistria, where an ammunition depot is located.
The head of the Ukraine Department of the Institute of CIS Countries Ivan Skorikov stated this in an interview with the propaganda website URA.RU.
"There is a great danger of opening a second front against Russia precisely in the PMR, which borders Moldova and Ukraine. Sandu is preparing to finally resolve the Transnistrian issue. (...) Sandu is afraid of attacking Transnistria only with the armed forces of Moldova. A plan for a joint provocation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being developed," the so-called expert said.
According to him, the provocation is planned in the area of the village of Kovbasna, where a warehouse with Soviet ammunition is located, which is guarded by russian troops, the interlocutor of URA.RU specified. In his opinion, the probability of such a development of events "will be especially high during the period when the negotiation process between russia and Ukraine will reach a final deadlock."
The ammunition depot in the Transnistrian village of Kovbasna, located near the border with Ukraine, is one of the largest in Europe. A kind of "operational group" of russian troops is based on the territory of Transnistria.
