The Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksii Sobolev and the Minister of Finance and Economy of Poland Andrzej Domański signed an Agreement on the activities of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) in Ukraine.
This is announced in a statement by the Ministry of Economy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The signing was also attended by the President of the Board of the Polish development bank BGK, Mirosław Czekaj.
According to the Agreement, BGK can now operate in Ukraine, in particular, provide the Government, state and private institutions and organizations with financial and technical assistance in the form of loans or other financial instruments.
These include export support, grants or guarantees for the implementation of recovery and development projects, which will be determined in cooperation between the governments of Ukraine and Poland and the Bank.
On September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft of this Agreement.
To fulfill its functions, BGK can:
- establish representative offices in Ukraine;
- hire personnel with Ukrainian, Polish or other citizenship;
- negotiate, conclude contracts, provide and receive guarantees, carry out any other activities necessary for the implementation of projects, in the manner and methods specified in the Agreement.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August, 10 non-bank financial institutions were excluded from the registers, 2 institutions were included.
The number of non-bank financial market participants in August decreased from 799 (as of August 1, 2025) to 791 (as of September 1, 2025), and the number of banks remained unchanged - 60.
