Naftogaz Group is negotiating with a number of US producers regarding direct supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine.
This is stated in the group's statement, citing an interview with the company's chairman of the board, Serhii Koretskyi, to Bloomberg, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The statement says that according to the publication, American LNG already accounts for about 10% of Ukrainian imports, which Naftogaz provides.
In 2025, the company, together with the Polish state concern ORLEN, imported over 400 million cubic meters of American liquefied gas to Ukraine.
A total of 450 million cubic meters have been contracted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company has already contracted 95% of the gas needed for the start of the heating season.
This year, Naftogaz allocated USD 2.5 billion to purchase gas to ensure a stable winter. Of this, USD 1 billion is the company's own funds, another USD 1.5 billion was provided by the EBRD, the Norwegian government, and other international financial institutions.
